Ancient dormant volcanos, lava fields, waterfalls and great seascapes. Snæfellsnes peninsula has it all. The peninsula itself is approx. 100km long and is crowned by now dormant volcano, Snæfellsjökull glacier. The glacier itself became world famous aftuer Jules Verne, the writer, described it in his book "A Journey to the center of the Earth" as a starting point of the journey. The peninsula is home to five bustling harbours and the small towns which are situated along the coastline rely on them as fisheries is their main industry.
