Day 1, Arrival

Group assembly, dinner in reykjavík

Arrive to Keflavík airport and transfer to centrum Reykjavík via the efficient Flybus where you will check in to your hotel. We will meet at the lobby at 19.00 for the first assembly of the group and go out for a nice dinner. There we can get to know each other, discuss the itinerary and we will do our best to answer questions regarding the workshop if you have any.

Day 2 and 3

South coast

waterfalls, volcanic beaches, sea stacks

We will make our way out of Reykjavík heading towards the the South coast. During the two days we will spend there we will concentrate on epic locations like Skógafoss waterfall, Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Reynisfjara beach which is famous for its black sand, Reynisdrangar Sea stacks and basalt strands. Spending two days close by these locations will give us the opportunity to catch a sunrise on the second day as we will be overnighting close all of the shooting locations. The waterfalls make for great subjects in the winter when they often partly freeze over transforming them into natural works of art.

Day 4,5 and 6

VAtnajökull national park

Jökulsárlón, fjallsórlón, Ice caves

After two great days on the South coast we are east bound via route 1. Headed towards the largest glacier cap in Europe, Vatnajökull. Here we will spend 3 days in total with one day dedicated to Ice caves. This vast ever changing location has incredible possibilities. The ice beach and glacier lagoon itself provide endless photographic opportunities. We will also have access to another lagoon close by, Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon.

Day 7

Skaftafell, vík

Svartifoss, lómagnúpur and svínafellsjökull

We begin our transfer back and our first stop will be in Skaftafell. Skaftafell is part of Vatnajökull national park and is the home to Svartifoss. The park itself is watched over by Icelands highest peak, Hvannadalshnúkur, which is part of Vatnajökull glacier. The park itself is home to beautiful vistas such as Svínafellsjökull glacier where we are able to walk right up to the outlet glacier itself.

Day 8

Vík, Reykjavík

Þingvellir national park

On our final day out on the road we transfer from the coastal town of Vík to Reykjavík via Þingvellir national park. Þingvellir is UNESCO heritage site and offers numerous photographic opportunities such as Öxarárfoss waterfall, Flosagjá fissure and many more. The park itself is unique for its natural beauty and the face that it's on of very few places in the world where you can actually see tectonic plates ripping the land apart. After our adventures in the park and having been on the road for 8 days we finally make a short dash to Reykjavík where you check in to a hotel for one final night.

Day 9

Departure

Keflavík Airport

After a nice breakfast at the hotel you'll be taken to Keflavík airport via Flybus where it's time to bid farewell to Iceland.

Cancellation AND REFUND policy

If you cancel and the Workshop is otherwise filled, we will refund you the full amount you have paid towards the tuition, minus a $150 service charge. If you cancel and the Workshop does not fill, then you will be refunded according to the following schedule, based on the full fee of the Workshop:

Greater than 60 days from the start date of the Workshop: full refund minus $150 fee.
45 days: 75% refund
30 days: 50% refund
Less than 30 days: no refund

Refunds will be paid by the same method that the original payment was made.
Refunds will be initiated within 72 hours of the time that the request is approved.

Disclaimer

The tour is always dependent on weather, as the Icelandic weather can indeed be highly unpredictable. Likewise, visits to ice caves are dependent on favorable conditions, and indeed the ice caves themselves are not permanent. When it comes to the Northern Lights, while they are most likely to be seen between September and April, there is no guarantee that they will appear on a given day. There is however always plenty to see and do if conditions do not favor any part of our original plan.
